Margje is a seasoned professional in documentaries and socially impactful media. For over a decade, she directed documentaries for various broadcasters, showcasing her deep commitment to storytelling. In 2004, she became Commissioning Editor for a documentary slot of 52’ docs, focusing on films addressing social, cultural, and moral issues with a strong human-interest angle.
Her career flourished with leadership roles at IKON, becoming Head of TV, Radio, and New Media programming in 2012, and later Head of Documentaries at EOdocs in 2016. Margje’s work has consistently brought attention to Dutch and international stories that resonate globally.
Since 2019, Margje has been the Artistic Director of Movies that Matter, a festival celebrating thought-provoking films on human rights and social justice, inspiring audiences and filmmakers worldwide.
