LUCIJA STOJEVIĆ

Lucija Stojević (Zagreb, 1980) holds an MA (Hons) in Architectural Design and specialized in directing and editing at the Prague Film School. An award-winning filmmaker with over 15 years of experience in the audiovisual industry, she founded Noon Films in Barcelona in 2014, where she works across various stages of production as a director, writer, and/or producer.

Her debut feature documentary, La Chana (2016), tells the powerful and inspiring story of a flamenco dancer who defies all odds. The film premiered at IDFA and went on to win 17 awards, including the IDFA Audience Award, the Gaudí Award (2018), and the Feroz Award (2018). It was a finalist for Best European Documentary at the European Film Awards (2017) and screened at over 150 international festivals. La Chana enjoyed a wide theatrical release (in eight territories) and was sold to more than a dozen television networks worldwide.

Lucija’s second feature documentary, Pepi Fandango (2023), garnered industry recognition during development and premiered at the Warsaw Film Festival in October 2023. It received a Special Jury Mention at the Málaga Film Festival, the Panorama Award at DocsValència, and the Audience Award at Memorimage Reus. The film had a theatrical release in Spain and Austria, was acquired by 3Cat, and is currently available in multiple European countries via the Docs Around Europe platform.

She is also the co-director, co-writer, and producer of Lost at Sea (2023), an animated short documentary on the plight of the Rohingya people. The film premiered at Annecy International Animation Film Festival (2023), was selected by over twenty international festivals, and won both the Chema Castiello Human Rights Award at MUSOC (Asturias) and Best Short Film at the Heroes Film Festival (Rome).

In addition to directing and producing the transmedia project A Dangeorus Journey, Lucija is currently co-directing (with Sebastián Mantilla) and producing her third feature documentary, Fragments of a Storm, which received ICEC Development Funding (2024) the HAVC Scriptwriting Fund and is in co-production with Arbor Films (Croatia). The project has been selected for the DocsBarcelona Campus 2025 and DocLab Montreal 2025.
