JORGE CABALLERO
Jorge Caballero holds an MSc in Interactive Media and
is currently pursuing a PhD in Cinema and Artificial Intelligence. He is a
co-founder of the production company GusanoFilms,
based in Barcelona and Bogotá.
As a filmmaker, Jorge has directed and produced a diverse
range of films, as well as interactive and immersive projects that have been
recognized and awarded at prestigious film festivals worldwide, including IDFA,
SXSW, Cinéma du Réel, Visions du Réel, Biarritz, Cartagena, Málaga, and
Thessaloniki, among many others. He is a two-time winner of the National
Documentary Award in Colombia. He was an Emerging
Producers participant in 2021.
Jorge’s expertise extends to immersive and interactive
storytelling, with projects showcased and awarded at top-tier festivals such as
HotDocs, Mar del Plata, and others. He is also a Sundance Institute fellow,
having participated in the
Stories of Change program. Jorge is also a dedicated educator. He teaches
in the Documentary Master’s program at Autonomous
University of Barcelona and is an Associate Professor of Interactive
Narratives at Pompeu Fabra University.
