Taskovski Films Training TFT #docsconnect and British Council UK and Nepal are organizing a custom made professional training program offering capacity building and network experience at Sheffield DocFest 2022 with the support of Nepali Female Filmmakers, Pame Film Festival and Film Development Board of Nepal for Nepali female filmmakers.
WHO IS IT FOR
The program aims to support and train female producers and directors from Nepal. 5 Nepali female filmmakers (ideally a producer and director duo for one project) will be given the opportunity for professional development and will be presenting their feature length documentary projects at Sheffield DocFest 2022. The program will take under consideration film project in late development, in production (including post) stage or a recently completed but unpublished film. Ideally, applicants should speak English, in case of language barrier British Council will provide translator from Nepali to English for applicant (for the selected projects).
WHERE
Professional training program will be held in live stream online form on Zoom Platform during February, March, April and May 2022, where the participants will receive guidance on individual approach to their respective projects. Selected filmmakers will be attending a business trip as part of Nepali delegation at Sheffield Doc Fest 2022 in June.
PROGRAM
Tailor-made professional training program made accordingly to stage and needs of the selected projects will focus on and include:
- finalizing film treatment, budget and financial plan
- creation of professional and strong film pitch package
- working with you director/editor on creating a strong film trailer to present the film during meetings at Sheffield DocFest
- learning and building-up your techniques and skills on how to deliver best possible pitch
- coaching on applying to festivals
- establishing an individual strategy for the participant`s business trip to Sheffield DocFest
- guidance how to prepare before going to prestigious film industry event
- offering the possibility to meet and present projects to international co-producers, film festivals and film funds
- a chance to international networking that will be beneficial for the project and further development of film industry in Nepal
- participants attending Sheffield DocFest 2022
