Event Details

Movies that Matter is dedicated to amplifying human rights through film, showcasing powerful stories that inspire change. With its annual festival, educational initiatives, and global support for screenings, it fosters dialogue around critical issues such as justice, equality, and freedom.

The Take on Film and Impact program, part of Movies that Matter, helps filmmakers and NGOs refine their impact strategies and connect with key industry players. This program brings together ten selected projects exploring vital topics like environmental activism, press freedom, LGBTQ rights, and more. Through training, pitches, and networking, participants will strengthen their projects’ reach and impact.

Irena Taskovski will return as a mentor for the Take on Film and Impact program, guiding filmmakers as they refine their pitches and impact strategies. In addition to her mentoring role, she will lead a Dancefullness session, designed to support mental well-being, enhance creativity, and foster conscious leadership in the film industry. Through dynamic movement practices, Irena will help participants connect body and mind, offering a fresh approach to stress relief and creative growth while empowering them to recharge and unlock their full creative potential. Irena will also present the Taskovski Training Award, offering mentorship and consultancy on development, festival strategies, and distribution to help exceptional documentary and experimental films reach international audiences.
