About Eva Vila Purti:
Eva Vila is co-director of the LABED (Laboratory of Editing), co-director of the Master in Creative Documentary and a Senior Lecturer at UPF Barcelona School of Management. Before joining UPF-BSM, she worked in cultural and media institutions such as CCCB or La Vanguardia.
Her latest feature film, “Penélope” (2018), was an international co-production with the support of Eurimages, which was critically acclaimed. “Bajarí” (2013), her previous multi-award-winning feature, was distributed by Wide House (Paris), while “B-Side” (2008) was shown at the National Gallery in Washington and at New York University. She has taught at centers such as Elisava, UMAS, Harvard and Tokyo.
Eva is a member of the Catalan Film Academy and the European Women’s Audiovisual network (EWA). She was a member of the first Barcelona Culture Council, has been part of the CONCA visual project evaluation commissions, and has been jury in several film festivals.
She holds a PhD in Communication from UPF, a Master’s degree in Communication and Art Criticism, a degree in Economics Business Studies and Humanities at Pompeu Fabra University (UPF), and a Higher Music Degree in Barcelona Music Conservatory.
