Anna Petrus

Anna Petrus is a filmmaker, curator, educator and researcher from Menorca, based in Barcelona. Her films have been screened at international festivals including Montréal, Sitges, Gijón, Zinebi and Abycine. She has worked as a film critic for publications including Dirigido por and La Vanguardia, and has served as Artistic Director of DocsBarcelona (2023–2024) and Memorimage Film Festival (2020–2024).

She is a co-founder of Dones Visuals, the Catalan association of women filmmakers, where she served on the board for seven years. Currently, she is a programming advisor at Sheffield DocFest, and teaches film at Pompeu Fabra University, the University of Barcelona and ESCAC. Alongside her teaching and programming work, she continues to develop projects as a screenwriter and director.
